MODULE 1 — Bringing Values and Character into Children’s Lives

Set children up for success based on love and strong values. This section includes an overview of all five sessions plus exercises in which parents select the values and character traits they want to emphasize in their household. In each session, parents have the option of bringing up their individual questions or situations.

MODULE 2 — Implement Family Values by Creating the Structure and Appropriate Discipline

Parents will identify how they want their children to behave. Then they will create the structure, rules and disciplinary measures which support the desired behavior and family values.

MODULE 3 — Imposing Consequences that Work: A True Expression of Parental Love and a Key to Fostering Family Values

Learn how to select and use effective consequences which build character by teaching children a sense of responsibility—that they are responsible for their behavior and the results of their actions. Exercises will help parents develop appropriate consequences for specific behavior. Bring your own situation and seek the help of the group. Learn the modern day use of the “woodpile”! Learn how not to rescue or enable our children in their inappropriate behaviors and attitudes.

MODULE 4 — Introduction to Parenting Styles Revealed, Maintaining a United Front, Becoming a TRP® and the Importance of Parental Example

The Parenting Styles Revealed workbook will be used by parents to clarify their parenting styles and create a supportive “united front.” Parenting Styles Revealed illustrates parenting approaches that are effective and those that aren’t. Cost of the workbook is $6.95 plus tax. How to become a Totally Responsible Person (TRP)®, staying positive, productive and effective, no matter what the circumstances, and taking personal responsibility for one’s emotions and behavior are key elements. “Do as I do” is the message we give our children whether we intend to or not. We’ll explore specific ways to be role models and examples for our children.

MODULE 5 — Helping Our Children Find Their Life Purpose — Dealing with the “I want/I desire” Syndrome.

Children must learn to control their desire for things and attention in order to lead productive, purposeful lives. Parents will learn the life-changing concept of “Reversing the Flow” and how it can help our children to become less self-centered and more giving, loving and caring individuals. The goal of parenting is to guide our children in finding their life purpose. Purpose is revealed by the intelligent choices we make. When values, structure and discipline are in place, children are then able to make those choices which will lead them to their life purpose—to truly make something of themselves.

The modules can be shortened, lengthened or combined to provide workshops, presentations, or keynotes from one to eight hours in length and follow-up sessions. Specific modules will be selected in consultation with the sponsor.
